The film “ Suunjapbang ” has revealed the line-up of its main cast. ASTRO's Sanha has been confirmed as one of the cast members in the film along with actors Kim Kang Min and Baek Sung Hyun. Reporting from Soompi, the film "Suunjapbang" tells the story of aristocrat Kim Yu, a gentleman in the Joseon Dynasty who wrote the recipe book "Suunjapbang".
In his third year of taking the national civil service exam, Kim Yu meets Gye Am, who calls himself the best chef in Joseon, and begins to search for the life he really wants as he ventures into the world of culinary arts. “Suunjapbang”, which is the core subject of the film, is a traditional cookbook passed down from the head of the renowned Andong Gwangsan Kim clan family as an heirloom.
The recipe book is also one of Korea's national treasures as it is the oldest Chinese manuscript in Korea which contains recipes for 121 types of alcohol and food. ASTRO's Sanha will play Kim Yu, whose goal is to pass the national civil service exam, which has been a family tradition for generations.
After meeting chef Gye Am, she begins to contemplate what kind of life she really wants. Sanha himself has appeared in various Korean dramas, including the web drama "Your Playlist", "Love Formula 11 M", "Soul Plate", "To be Continued", and the Korean drama "Crazy Love".
Meanwhile, Kim Kang Min will play the role of Gye Am who introduces Kim Yu to the world of culinary arts. Despite his poor family background, Gye Am claims to be the top chef in Joseon with his passion for cooking. Kim Kang Min has starred in various dramas such as “School 2021”, “To My Star”, and “Hot Stove League”.
Finally, Baek Sung Hyun will present his special appearance as Kim Yu's older brother named Kim Yeon, who has a gentle but strong charisma. Baek Sung Hyun showed his outstanding acting skills through the dramas “Casting a Spell to You”, “Voice”, and “Doctors”. The film "Suunjapbang" will be released on December 16 as part of the "2023 KBS Drama Special".
