The film 'Automata' is back at the Trans TV Cinema. This 2014 film was broadcast on Monday November 20, 2023, precisely at 23.00 WIB. With a sci-fi genre, 'Automata' is a film directed by Gabe Ibanez. This Spanish director's previous works include 'Hierro' (2009) and 'Maquina' (2006).

In 'Automata', actor Antonio Banderas appears as the main star. He was paired with actress Melanie Griffith, who at that time was still his wife. Melania and Antonio officially divorced in 2015. Not to forget, Robert Forster, Dylan McDermott, Birgitte Hjort Sorensen and Javier Bardem.

This film tells the story of the changing conditions of the Earth due to the lick of the sun which killed more than 99% of the world's population. The remaining survivors on Earth are encouraged to build a new life by creating humanoid robots, called Pilgrims.

These robots are tasked with helping humans rebuild civilization on earth which has become barren and uninhabitable. These robots have two immutable protocols, namely that they cannot harm life in any form and must not repair, modify or change themselves or other robots in any way.

Initially, the existence of this robot was seen as a savior for humanity to survive on the verge of extinction.Until one day, Jacq Vaucan (Antonio Banderas), an insurance investigator for ROC, the company that produces Robot Pilgrims, receives a report from a police officer.

In the report, he shot a robot because it was able to modify itself. When Jacq investigated the case, he managed to disable a robot and dismantle the robot to see what it was hiding. Apparently, the robot has a rare nuclear battery that can power the robot indefinitely.

The battery allows the robot to continue living and adapting to the latest technology. Costing up to US$ 7 million in production, 'Automata' was only able to make a profit from ticket sales of US$ 6.2 million. In terms of ratings, IMDb gave it a score of 6.1 stars. Don't miss 'Automata' at the Trans TV Cinema on Monday November 20, 2023, at 23.00 WIB.
