South Korean actor Lee Jun-young announced his plans to enlist in the military in the near future. Jun-young made the announcement via his social media account on Sunday June 14, 2026.
In the post, it was revealed that he would be enlisting on July 21, 2026. Jun-young also stated that he had intentionally announced his military enlistment plans directly to fans rather than having them inform him of the plans through the media.
“I thought it would be better to tell you directly rather than have the news reported through an article, so I’m leaving this message. Yes, I am enlisting on July 21,” he wrote.
“I agonized for months over where to begin this story, and finally decided to write it myself. I’m already on my 10th revision,” he said with a laugh. Lee Jun-young also revealed that, at first, he didn't think the prospect of enlisting was a big deal.
However, after receiving the notification letter, he began to think about many things. He also explained that he had been contemplating how best to break the news to his fans.
