Go Joon-hee recently expressed her frustration over her alleged involvement in the Burning Sun scandal. She finally opened his voice to deny all the accusations. On Tuesday June 11, 2024, Go Joon-hee appeared on the Studio Suze YouTube channel in the 'Don't Forget Your Breakfast 2' segment, where she clarified the rumors surrounding Burning Sun.
In the event, host Jang Sung Kyu stated that Go Joon-hee's name was mentioned in the investigation regarding the Burning Sun case. In response, Go Jun Hee said, "Oh, those people. I don't even know where Burning Sun is and I've never been there. I've been saying for years that it's not true, but no one listens, and only the edited portion is shown."
Go Joon-hee said that the rumors started circulating because of a photo of him with Seungri. "The photo was taken at a breast cancer campaign event that we both attended. Seungri, who at that time was under the same agency as me, asked to take a selfie, and I took a photo with him," said Go Joon-hee as quoted by Allkpop on Wednesday June 12, 2024. She added, "I didn't know he had posted it because we don't follow each other on Instagram."
Go Joon-hee also expressed her disappointment with her agency at the time, YG Entertainment, which did not come clean or clarify the rumors. "I thought this issue would be resolved well if the company clarified this issue, but they ignored me. As an actress, image is everything, and they couldn't even release a single article to say that it wasn't true," she said. "That's why I left the company, hired my own lawyer, and explained the situation," she added.
Go Joon-hee revealed that he missed the right time to clarify the rumors, which caused him to drop out of the planned project, even causing her mother to suffer from vertigo. "I realized that the hardest thing to prove is something that isn't true," added the 'She Was Pretty' star. Go Joon-hee's suffering due to rumors of her involvement in the Burning Sun case lasted for years.
During the Burning Sun scandal in 2019, a conversation in Seungri's chat group was revealed, which contained the message, "The actress is in New York, so she cannot attend the investor meeting." This gave rise to netizen speculation that the actress in question was Go Joon-hee, who is in the same agency as Seungri.
Furthermore, Go Joon-hee filed a complaint with the police against netizens who posted malicious comments against him regarding Burning Sun, and accused them of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
