Adult Swim has officially announced that the Ninja Kamui anime series will continue its adrenaline-filled story into a second season. Previously, the first season aired 13 episodes from February to May 2024.

Adapting from Business Wire on Wednesday June 19, 2024, Sola Entertainment is currently working on the second season of Ninja Kamui. The series is directed by Sunghoo Park who also directed Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 and produced by Adult Swim.

Since it was first released, Ninja Kamui immediately received positive reviews from the audience thanks to its stunning choreography, interesting ninja story and brutal battles. Adult Swim revealed that Ninja Kamui is the most popular anime on their platform.

Ninja Kamui's specialty can be seen from its ability to get a game version and a second season simultaneously. In fact, Ninja Kamui managed to surpass the popular series Attack on Titan and One Piece in IMDB's top show rankings.

Ninja Kamui tells the story of Joe Higan, a Nukenin who was once part of a ninja clan but then ran away and hid his identity in rural America with his family. His quiet life is disrupted when a team of assassins from his past organization attacks them in retaliation for Joe's betrayal of their code.

As if he had died in the attack, Joe revived as Ninja Kamui to take revenge for the death of his family. As a modern ninja in the 21st era, Kamui combines ancient skills with advanced technology in battle against enemies who are not only physically trained, but also use cyborgs and modern weapons.

His journey of risking everything to destroy the clan has changed his life drastically. For Adult Swim, the success of Ninja Kamui is a promising start to expanding their presence in the world of anime. They recently announced plans to release the science fiction anime Lazarus which is the result of a collaboration between Shinichiro Watanabe, John Wick, and Mappa Studio.

Adult Swim itself is a television channel owned by Cartoon Network. They show animation and live action with a more experimental style, darker humor, and themes that are often more complex and oriented towards a more mature audience.
