NewJeans finally officially released their first Japanese debut single entitled ' Supernatural '. To be precise, Friday June 21, 2024. At the same time, the music video for the first part of the song 'Supernatural' has been officially uploaded on the official HYBE Labels YouTube channel.

Debuting on the Japanese music scene did not make NewJeans abandon the musical colors and old school concepts inherent in their group. The music video for the song 'Supernatural' part 1 is also presented with a strong 80s and 90s feel. Starting from the music beat, clothing style, to the visuals displayed.

Opening with a scene introducing the NewJeans members one by one through a retro television screen, NewJeans then emphasizes their solidarity through dance moves that groove throughout the music video. Even more special, member Hyein, who is currently suffering from an injury, appears as the main character in the story plot of their music video.

Although the dancing part had to be replaced with a rabbit doll character. In particular, the song 'Supernatural' is described as a new jack swing genre that samples the 2009 song 'Back of My Mind' by Pharrell Williams and Manami. The bridge and improvisations of the original song have been recreated in the style of NewJeans' in-house producer, 250, while the performance captivates the audience with its fun energy.

Apart from featuring the song 'Supernatural' as the main single for their Japanese debut this time, NewJeans has also previously released a music video for the b-side song 'Right Now' which features unique work from popular Japanese artist, Tatashi Murakami, as well as collaborating with the animated character The Powerpuff Girls.

On the other hand, fans can't wait to wait for the second part of the music video for the song 'Supernatural' with a different story. In one song, NewJeans successfully delivers nostalgic music packaged in a fun and youthful NewJeans style. Making each of their releases not only unique, but satisfying music lovers' longing for songs that are easy to listen to, but groovy at the same time.
