South Korean police have officially summoned a Japanese citizen for questioning regarding the alleged harassment case against BTS's Jin . The Japanese woman , who is said to be around 50 years old, is suspected of kissing BTS's Jin at a free hug event held on June 13, 2024.

Korea JoongAng Daily reported on Thursday February 27, 2025, that the woman did something she shouldn't have done to the musician whose full name is Kim Seok-jin, especially when Jin was holding a series of events for BTS's 11th anniversary.

The police then began an investigation after receiving a report through the National Civil Service on June 14, 2024. In July 2024, the police asked for Interpol's assistance and named a suspect after conducting a seven-month collaborative investigation.

The Songpa Police Station arrested the woman on sexual assault charges and asked her to report the case. The woman has yet to respond to police requests, according to the Chosun Ilbo. According to the same report, the police are also said to be summoning BTS's Jin as a victim of the case.

Jin previously held a "Festa" meet-and-greet event with his fans, affectionately known as ARMY, on June 13, 2024, right after he completed his military service. The event featured the Running Wild singer to greet fans. He also held a hug session for 1,000 lucky fans in celebration of his discharge from the military.

However, there are quite a few fans who try to kiss the oldest member of BTS. However, there are still many fans who interact with Jin politely. The police investigation process was carried out after a BTS fan revealed the problem in an online fan community by saying that he reported the fan who had tried to kiss Jin to the Seoul Songpa Police Station.

The reporter also stated, "I reported the violation of Article 11 of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, 'harassment in a crowded place,' through the National Petition System. In addition to Jin, another BTS member, J-Hope, has also completed his military service. Meanwhile, RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are reported to be completing their military service in June.
