South Korean actress, Jin Ki Joo has officially joined the cast of MBC's newest Korean drama entitled ' Undercover High School '. Jin Ki Joo will star in the drama along with actor Seo Kang Joon.
Carrying the comedy action genre, 'Undercover High School' tells the story of a National Intelligence Agency (NIS) agent who disguises himself as a high school student and hides his true identity. The screenplay for this drama was written by Im Young Bin, who previously successfully worked on 'Sketch' and 'Bad Prosecutor', while the production will be led by director Choi Jung In.
In 'Undercover High School', Jin Ki Joo plays Oh Soo Ah, a contract teacher who teaches Korean history, as well as the homeroom teacher for Jung Hae Sung (played by Seo Kang Joon), an NIS agent who is in undercover mode. Oh Soo Ah has an honest personality and really loves her students.
One day, Oh Soo Ah notices the striking resemblance between Jung Hae Sung, a new student in her class, and her childhood first love which hurts her deeply. The meeting between Oh Soo Ah and Jung Hae Sung will trigger a series of dramatic events in school life at Byeongmun High School.
“Jin Ki Joo brings an intellectual image and bright energy to the role of Soo Ah, making her perfect for the role. Her interactions with undercover student Hae Sung promise unexpected comedy and romance. "The production team is very enthusiastic about its potential," said the drama production team as quoted by Soompi on Tuesday June 18, 2024.
Jin Ki Joo is expected to display his solid acting skills as a loving teacher who has secret turmoil in his heart. Viewers are also looking forward to her sweet chemistry with Seo Kang Joon, who has just returned from military service.
Previously, Jin Ki Joo starred in a series of popular Korean dramas, including 'The Good Wife', 'Misty', 'The Secret Life of My Secretary', 'Homemade Love Story', 'My Perfect Stranger', 'Uncle Samsik', and many more. Meanwhile, 'Undercover High School' is scheduled for release in 2025 and will fill the Friday-Saturday drama slot at 21.50 KST on MBC.
