Shin Se Kyung will reportedly be leaving EDAM Entertainment after her contract ends this July. Quoting from Allkpop on Wednesday July 3, 2024, a representative from EDAM Entertainment officially announced that their collaboration with actress Shin Se Kyung will end this month.
The actress also decided not to renew her contract with the agency , after being there for approximately 3 years. “After thorough discussions, Shin Se Kyung and our company have decided to end our management partnership as of July 4, 2024,” said EDAM Entertainment.
They added, “We express our gratitude to actress Shin Se Kyung for the career journey we have shared together based on mutual trust. We have loved every moment we have spent together.” Even though they are no longer collaborating, the agency also asked fans to continue to give their love and support to the actress in the future.
"We ask that you continue to show warm interest and support for Shin Se Kyung's future projects. We sincerely wish her the best in carrying out all her future activities," concluded EDAM Entertainment. Meanwhile, Shin Se Kyung joined EDAM Entertainment in 2021. After completing her contract with her old agency, Namoo Actors, which has been with her for 19 years since her debut.
When she first joined EDAM Entertainment, an agency founded by IU and her long-time manager, Shin Se Kyung received a warm welcome from IU by receiving flowers and rice cakes as gifts. During her time under EDAM Entertainment, Shin Se Kyung has appeared in a number of popular Korean drama projects.
Among them are tvN dramas 'Arthdal Chronicles' and 'Captivating the King'. Shin Se Kyung is reportedly considering several offers to appear in new acting projects. However, it is not yet known which agency she will join after her contract with EDAM Entertainment ends.
