2NE1 has been confirmed to greet fans through a concert in Indonesia on November 23, 2024. The concert is part of a series of comebacks and world tours that were previously announced by YG Entertainment as the agency. News about the upcoming concert was also announced by YG Entertainment through an upload on X on Friday September 6, 2024.
This concert is part of the 2NE1 ASIA TOUR [WELCOME BACK] 2024-25. "2024-25 #2NE1 ASIA TOUR [WELCOME BACK] ANNOUNCEMENT #1," wrote @ygent_official. Jakarta is the second city announced in the 2024 quarter after Manila, Philippines, on November 16, 2024. YG is expected to announce four more cities in the near future.
The concert by CL, Sandra Park, Park Bom, and Minzy will be brought by iMe Indonesia as the local promoter. However, the promoter has not yet provided detailed information other than what YG has announced. Previously, in July 2024, YG Entertainment announced the comeback of 2NE1.
The return of the 2nd generation Kpop girl group is part of YG's plans for 2024-2025. 2NE1's comeback is also to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the debut of the group which is considered to be one of the first groups to introduce the hallyu wave to the global market.
"So we met and happily discussed doing it this year," said Yang Hyun-suk, founder of YG Entertainment, in a video uploaded on Monday July 22, 2024. "The concert will start in early October in Seoul, we have already booked venues in Osaka and Tokyo in late November and December," he continued.
He also ensured that the upcoming concert would be special, especially because it was prepared specifically for 2NE1 fans called Blackjack. "The concert will resonate with those who grew up with 2NE1's music so they can share those memories," added Yang Hyun-suk.
"They have a lot of well-known songs, so the crew worked hard to make it a very successful show." 2NE1 debuted in May 2009 with a single titled Fire. Since then, they have released many hit songs, including I Am the Best, Missing You, Come Back Home, and more. 2NE1 also became the first Kpop girl group to go on a world tour in 2012.
