Mariah Carey is reportedly having financial troubles. Her ex-boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka, is said to be one of the causes of her dwindling finances. As reported by the New York Post, the 55-year-old singer has to deal with a mortgage debt worth US$18.6 million for his penthouse in Manhattan, New York, USA.

Mariah bought the penthouse in 1999 for $9 million in cash, but she has pledged the house several times to take out loans. Mariah who loves life and glamorous parties often invites her partner to have fun. During their seven-year relationship, Mariah is said to have financed their luxurious lifestyle.

Not only Bryan Tanaka, but also several of her other ex-lovers. "In the past, she (Mariah Carey) would pamper them with luxury, new clothes, fancy hair salons, all the luxuries they could want, plus private jets, fine dining, and five-star hotels and limousine service," a source told Life & Style magazine.

"The reality is these people cost Mariah a lot of money to live the high life and basically, they have everything she has, but it's double everything," he continued. The source also added that Mariah now has to live more frugally because her household budget is limited.

The singer of 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' is said to not be able to live in luxury every day. "She's considering whether it would be better to approach someone with financial stability rather than a toyboy who, frankly, will only make her more miserable," the source continued.

Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka were in a relationship in 2016. In April 2017, the two separated but got back together a month later. As reported by Page Six, the age difference is the cause of Mariah and the 41-year-old man's different outlook on life. Bryan is known to be 14 years younger than Mariah.
