BTS is said to be making a comeback as a whole group in 2026. This estimate strengthens the possibility of a comeback plan in 2025 that was postponed for a year later. The forecast was announced during HYBE's third-quarter earnings call, where HYBE CFO Lee Kyung-jun discussed plans for BTS and their post-military contribution.

"We are currently discussing the group's (BTS) activities as a whole for 2026 with the members," said Lee Kyung-jun, as reported by the Korea Times, Thursday November 7, 2024. "While a full BTS comeback will certainly result in increased revenue, the growth of other artists and new business ventures means that BTS's overall revenue share will likely not be as high as before."

The statement made fans, known as ARMY, express their concerns on social media regarding BTS's comeback plans, which were initially expected in 2025. However, HYBE clarified that the CFO's comments did not imply a change to the group's comeback, which was previously said to be in late 2025.

"We are currently discussing with the artists regarding their post-military activities. Once we finalize the timing and specifics, we will inform (the public) at the appropriate time," the agency said. Currently, only Jin and J-Hope have completed their military service. While other members, such as RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are scheduled to be discharged in June 2025.

Meanwhile, industry analysts are doubtful about the possibility of BTS making a comeback in 2026. They said that the group's comeback in late 2025 is still possible. HYBE and the members previously indicated that their comeback target was late 2025. The members' decision to enlist at around the same time was also seen as an effort to return as a whole group as soon as possible.

NH Investment & Securities researcher Lee Hwa-jung mentioned the anticipated schedule in the call, saying, "The full-group album release for BTS is scheduled for late 2025, indicating no change in the intended comeback date." "HYBE is poised for immediate growth, through revenue streams from albums, streaming, concerts, fan clubs, and merchandise."
