Paul Kim was a guest star on the SBS program "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny" on January 20, 2025. On that occasion, the 1988-born singer discussed his marriage to a non-celebrity wife who is 9 years younger than him.
During the event, host Kim Gu Ra introduced Paul by saying, “You might be wondering why he’s here.” Gu Ra then revealed that Paul is a newlywed who has been married for 9 months. It is known that Paul announced his marriage in April on his social media, revealing that he married his non-celebrity girlfriend.
However, little is known about the couple's wedding. Paul then shared how he first met his wife. "I was introduced to her by a mutual friend who is a close musician friend of mine," he said. He then responded to accusations of keeping the marriage under wraps.
"It's not a secret. I don't think people know because we didn't have a wedding," he said. The singer of "New Day" then revealed the reason why he and his wife didn't have a wedding. "After seeing my friends getting married, I realized that wedding preparations are not easy.
Since it was our wedding, I suggested to my wife that we focus on each other, and she immediately agreed," said Paul. Paul added, "We even photographed our own wedding. We bought a wedding dress and took pictures together." Hearing that, Gu Ra replied, "It's impressive that your wife agreed to such a simple plan."
"Simplified plans like this are often done for second marriages. Your wife must be very practical to understand your reasons," Gu Ra added. Paul was then asked about his wife's identity. "I'm careful about exposing his face because he's not a celebrity.

Paul Kim wittily replied, “My mother-in-law is a big fan of this show.” Paul then discussed his reasons for agreeing to appear on the program.
