2PM's Taecyeon has become a hot topic in the news due to allegations that he will soon get married. This suspicion arose after a series of photos circulated showing the idol born in 1988 as if he was proposing to his non-celebrity girlfriend.
The photos, originally posted by a French photographer on Instagram, show Taecyeon giving a ring to a woman with the Eiffel Tower in the background. The man appears to be on one knee as he offers the Tiffany ring.
Taecyeon's girlfriend, who looked surprised, smiled brightly as she received it. The series of photos had actually been uploaded since April last year and were unknown. But recently, a Chinese fan found them, which caused the photos to suddenly spread. The photographer immediately deleted the photos.
However, the portrait that has spread has raised rumors of a marriage between Taecyeon and his girlfriend. Until February 5, the actor's agency, 51k, gave a response. They firmly denied the news that Taecyeon would soon get married.
51k's agency stated, "The rumors about Ok Taecyeon's marriage are not true. The photos were taken last year as part of a surprise event for his girlfriend's birthday, not as a proposal." However, the agency did not deny that Taecyeon hopes to get married in the future.
"Although he hopes to get married someday when the time is right, there are no concrete plans at this time, and nothing has been discussed in detail," the agency continued. So far, Taecyeon has not personally responded to the spread of the photo.
On the other hand, netizens are busy praising the beautiful visuals of Taecyeon's girlfriend in the alleged proposal portrait. "His girlfriend is so pretty [sic!]," wrote one netizen. "The woman's smile is really cute. She has crescent moon eyes [sic!]," added another.
"It seems like people who look alike really date. Their smiles are similar [sic!]," said another netizen. Taecyeon and his girlfriend were caught enjoying a late-night date on December 15 near Apgujeong Rodeo station in Seoul.
The couple was seen walking hand in hand, showing off their affection. The couple reportedly made no attempt to hide their faces, with Taecyeon wearing only his green beanie as they enjoyed a normal date like any other couple. They walked hand in hand.
Meanwhile, Taecyeon is currently filming a KBS drama titled "The First Night With the Duke" with SNSD's Seohyun . This drama is adapted from a popular webtoon with the same title. The drama, which is adapted into a sageuk version, will air around 2025.
