BLACKPINK's Lisa made history by becoming the first K-Pop idol to perform at the Academy Awards or Oscars. On Tuesday February 25, 2025, BLACKPINK's Lisa was confirmed to be performing at the 2025 Oscars with Doja Cat and RAYE.

The three female musicians will collaborate to perform the song Born Again at the peak night of the 2025 Oscars which will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 local time at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Born Again is a collaboration between Lisa, Doja Cat, and RAYE that was released earlier on February 7, 2025. 

This song is one of the songs on Lisa's upcoming first full album titled ALTER EGO. Since its release, Born Again debuted at No. 69 on the Hot 100 as well as No. 12 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart and No. 22 on the Global 200. The Oscars will air live on March 2, 2025 at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST. 

Meanwhile, the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards or the 2025 Oscars were announced on January 23, 2025. The nominations were announced by Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott. Of the nominees, Emilia Pérez's  film won the most with a total of 13 nominations. The musical became the most nominated non-English language work in Oscar history.
