Baekho, formerly of NU'EST, left for his mandatory military service on Monday, December 29, 2025. Before leaving for duty, he appeared as a guest on a radio show on the day of his departure.
"I fill my days with work so other thoughts don't come," Baekho said, as reported by Chosun Biz. "It's an honor to greet you on a day like this. This is what my heart chooses. I can see you once again," he said.
When asked about his feelings, Baekho admitted that he was grateful because he exercised and prepared his body until the day of his departure arrived. "Actually, I said I wanted to go.
They supported me, and I'm grateful. And I actually told them I wanted to exercise until the morning of departure," he continued. "I thought the event wasn't rescheduled.
I'm grateful for the invitation, but I'm happy to be working. I can't sleep; it feels like I haven't fully slept," Baekho said before his departure. Baekho, who was born in 1995, debuted as a member of NU'EST in 2012.
After the group disbanded in 2022, he began to focus on being a solo singer. This year, Baekho also acted in the drama My Lovely Journey with Gong Seung Yeon and Kim Jae Young.
