Singer Wheesung who was scheduled to hold a funeral has now been canceled. The family canceled the plan and chose a private cremation. Wheesung was found dead in his apartment in Seoul on March 10, 2025. Emergency services received a call from his family.

He is believed to have suffered cardiac arrest in the middle of his normal activities. The 43-year-old singer was later pronounced dead. Initially, the family planned to hold a funeral the next day, but they canceled the plan and Wheesung's body was autopsied on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 to determine the actual cause of death.

On the same day, Tajoy Entertainment, Wheesung's agency, said the family was shocked by this sad news. “Due to the intense shock of grief the family is experiencing, they are not proceeding with the funeral process at this time,” Tajoy Entertainment said.

“The necessary procedures will be carried out once the family is emotionally ready,” he said. The music world felt grief considering that Wheesung was a popular singer and composer in the 2000s.

Recently, Solar from group MAMAMOO wrote a post expressing her gratitude for Wheesung helping MAMAMOO before they debuted. “Thank you for making amazing songs and singing with us before MAMAMOO debuted when we didn’t know anything. I won’t forget your music. May you rest in peace,” Solar wrote.
