BLACKPINK's Rose has once again captured the public's attention with the release of her latest song titled 'Messy.' This song is very special because it marks Rose's debut as a soundtrack singer (OST) for a Hollywood film.

'Messy' is part of the album ' F1 The Album,' which accompanies the film 'F1'—a big-screen project starring Brad Pitt and scheduled to premiere on June 27, 2025 in the United States (EST), as reported by Soompi on Friday May 9, 2025.

The song 'Messy' was released along with its official music video on May 9, 2025 at 1 a.m. KST (May 8, 2025 EST). The video was released on Rose's YouTube channel and immediately received an overwhelming response.

In a short time, the video has surpassed 21 million views with over 431 thousand likes, showing how high fans' enthusiasm is for Rosé's latest solo work. In the music video, Rose is seen exploring various iconic locations in Las Vegas that depict the atmosphere in the film 'F1.'

Wrapped in blue tones and melancholy visual elements, Rose delivers the song with full emotion. The song explores the theme of love that has become obsessive, with the singer describing the feeling of being "barely able to breathe" because she is so enamored with her partner.

Lyrics like " I'm obsessed with you and there's no replica " depict intense passion, but ultimately too much love can be messy. 'Messy' was co-written by Rose, Cleo Tighe, Delacey, Matthew James Burns and Peter Rycroft.

It is the second release from 'F1 The Album,' which also features a global lineup of artists including Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Don Toliver, Tate McRae, Burna Boy and Roddy Ricch. The album will be available globally on June 27, 2025, coinciding with the release of the film.

Rose's involvement in the 'F1' film project is a new step in his solo career, as well as expanding his musical reach into the Hollywood realm. Her appearance in the music video also features footage from the film starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, and Kerry Condon, making the experience of watching the video feel like being immersed in the cinematic world of 'F1.'

Not only releasing a solo song, Rose also shared exciting news about BLACKPINK. In an interview quoted from Pink Villa, on May 6, 2025, she revealed that all BLACKPINK members had just reunited in the studio in South Korea.

This statement strengthens fan speculation about the possibility of the group's long-awaited comeback .When asked about plans for their next world tour, Rose teased that BLACKPINK is preparing a new, fresher concept.

She said, " We will be releasing new music. I feel like the concept will be a very different way to tell our story in the next tour. " This statement further strengthens the hopes of BLINKs—the name for BLACKPINK fans—that BLACKPINK's new era will come with a different feel and be full of surprises.

This is in line with the statement of Lisa, Rose's groupmate, who previously also confirmed that they are working on new material. Although details such as song titles, number of tracks, and release dates have not been officially announced, anticipation from fans is already incredibly high.

With the release of “Messy,” Rose proves herself to be an artist who continues to grow—both individually and as part of BLACKPINK. Her new work not only expands the scope of her international career but also shows a compelling emotional and artistic depth.
