Katy Perry and five other women successfully landed safely on Earth after a space journey using a Blue Origin rocket on Tuesday April 15, 2025. Katy Perry joined the flight along with journalist Gayle King, philanthropist Lauren Sanchez, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
They all flew aboard a New Shepard rocket designed by Blue Origin for space tourism purposes, as reported by People and Reuters on the same day. After landing in West Texas, United States, Katy Perry was seen kissing the ground as a sign of gratitude.
During the 11-minute flight, she sang Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World." "I feel so connected to love," Katy Perry said after returning to Earth. Gayle King, one of the passengers on the flight, said Katy Perry chose not to sing her own songs because she wanted to talk about the world.
