South Korean media reported that singer Nam Tae Hyun was arrested by police for drunk driving on April 27, 2025. The former WINNER member was still on probation after being involved in a drug case.

Police said the South Korean singer caused the accident on the Gangbyeon-Ilsan Expressway while trying to overtake a vehicle in front of him. Nam Tae Hyun was found to have hit a road divider, and no one was seriously injured.

According to police investigation, Nam Tae Hyun's blood alcohol level was very high, above 0.08 percent. This very high alcohol level could result in Nam Tae Hyun's driver's license being revoked.

This arrest then adds to the long list of legal violations committed by Nam Tae Hyun, after previously being charged with DUI (Drinking Under the Influence) and being proven to have used a pillopone illegally.

Police later confirmed that Nam Tae Hyun's second DUI case would be forwarded to the prosecution after additional investigation. "Nam Tae Hyun's DUI case will soon be forwarded to the prosecutor's office after additional investigation is conducted," the police statement said, quoted Friday May 9, 2025.

Nam Tae Hyun himself was scheduled to continue his activities as a singer through a festival in Hongdae on May 6, 2025. However, his appearance was suddenly canceled on May 4, 2025, but he is still scheduled to release a new album on May 9, 2025.
