South Korean netizens, also known as Knetz, were shocked by the fact that a male K-Pop idol born after 2000 had completed his mandatory military service before officially debuting. The K-Pop idol is a member of F&F Entertainment's new boy group, AHOF.
Seo Jeongwoo, born in 2001, has become a hot topic on South Korean online forums for completing his mandatory military service before debuting. Seo Jeongwoo himself is known to be the second oldest member of AHOF, where the group consists of members born between 2000 and 2009.
AHOF is known to be a group formed through the idol survival program Universe League which aired from November 2024 to January 2025. The group only officially debuted in July 2025. Meanwhile, according to fans and netizens, Jeongwoo completed his mandatory military service long ago.
He was even said to have completed his mandatory military service before officially joining the idol survival program. Jeongwoo reportedly attended university before pursuing his dream of becoming a K-pop idol.
He attended college as a "very ordinary person" and previously wanted to become a model and actor. When he learned about the Universe League program, Jeongwoo finally decided to pursue his dream of becoming a K-Pop idol at the age of 24, even though he had no experience in the field.
Knowing that Jeongwoo had completed his military service long before his debut, many Knetz gave their support and congratulated Jeongwoo and his fans because they don't need to worry about this issue. The reason is, there are still many K-Pop idols born in 1998 and onwards who have not yet completed their military service.
" He's a guy who went to college and did his military service like everyone else, but was very prepared not to miss out on an opportunity when it came, " commented one Knetz. " He looks so young with a baby face, but the fact that he already completed his military service is amazing, " said another Knetz.
" Jeongwoo fans must be so lucky... the military hiatus was honestly so hard, " added another Knetz. AHOF itself is rumored to be making a comeback on November 4, 2025 with a second mini album entitled The Passage.
