K-pop legend BoA has officially ended her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment after a 25-year partnership that helped shape the industry. SM Entertainment announced the decision in a heartfelt statement on January 12, 2026.
“We have agreed to conclude our 25-year journey together as of December 31, 2025, after extensive and in-depth discussions with BoA,” the agency confirmed. SM Entertainment praised BoA’s legendary career, who played a pivotal role in pioneering the Hallyu wave across Asia.
