Apart from being good at skating, Cha Jun Hwan has also honed his acting skills through his latest project after a long time. After successfully achieving fourth place at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, the Korean figure skating athlete is rumored to be returning to acting through  sitcom tvN's latest series titled Palace Land.

Reporting from Soompi on Sunday (June 7, 2026), Fantagio Entertainment, Cha Jun Hwan's new agency, confirmed that the athlete under its auspices is considering an offer to star in the tvN sitcom, Palace Land (working title). The news of the sitcom casting was immediately met with enthusiasm.

If Cha Jun Hwan accepts the Palace Land offer , this project will mark his comeback as an actor after a 17-year hiatus since his last acting role in 2009. Meanwhile, Palace Land tells the story of the daily lives of part-time workers at an amusement park who live together in a dormitory.

In this sitcom, Cha Jun Hwan reportedly received an offer for the main role as Seong Dae Han, a clumsy and selfish man who relies on his charming charm for his own gain. Before becoming known as an athlete, Cha Jun Hwan began his career as a model and child actor.

He made his acting debut in 2006 in the drama Miracle , followed by roles in the dramas Night After Night (2008) and The Return of Iljimae (2009), before finally officially becoming a member of the national ice skating team in 2015.
