Right on his birthday on Monday June 15, 2026, the donation distributed by SEVENTEEN's Hoshi was successfully realized into a new, more suitable educational facility for children in Zambia, Africa.
The South Korean social welfare organization, Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love), announced that a classroom construction project at a public school in Zambia, funded by Hoshi's donation, has officially been completed.
The project was made possible by a 100 million won donation from Hoshi through the organization last year. The public school that received this assistance accommodates around 250 students, ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade.
Previously, the school only had two classrooms, so students from various grades were forced to study in the same room in worrying conditions. Thanks to a donation from Hoshi, the school now has five new classrooms spread across two buildings, proper toilet facilities, and a complete renovation of the old building.
In addition to schools, aid was also distributed to an orphanage in Kitwe, northern Zambia. The donations were used to repair outdated facilities and improve electrical installations to improve the living conditions of the children there.
In an official statement, Hoshi expressed his joy at being able to help children in Zambia learn and grow in a better environment. He also expressed his commitment to continuing to provide support to areas in need in the future. This humanitarian act extends Hoshi's long record of philanthropy.
Since joining the Honor Society in 2021, he has consistently engaged in social work both at home and abroad, including funding the construction of an orphanage in Laos, providing scholarships for his alma mater, and donating to an army foundation.
