North Korea rarely gets attention when it comes to handsome athletes. So, when photos of Ro Myong Rong went viral online, many people took notice. The 25-year-old's good looks sparked much discussion. Besides being rare, his classic looks are a particular draw.
According to 8days, Yong Myong's facial features remind netizens of old photos of Koreans from their grandfathers' generation. His vintage-looking appearance makes him seem like he's from a bygone era, around the 80s or 90s.
Some argue that Yong Myong wouldn't look out of place playing the male lead in a vintage Hong Kong film. Some even say the athlete resembles Andy Lau, considered one of the most handsome Asian actors of his time.
Not much information has been released about Ro Yong Myong. He was born in Pyongyang on November 14, 2000. Yong Myung began figure skating in 2006 and represented the Pyongyang Railway Sports Club, according to the International Skating Union.
Ro Yong Myong was also one of only three figure skaters sent by North Korea to the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China. He competed in the men's singles event and finished sixth.
