Actor Chris Pratt has confirmed that his character Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy films will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, he has yet to confirm when the superhero will return to the big screen.

According to Antara, Sunday, October 25, 2026, citing Variety, Pratt revealed that discussions with Marvel Studios executives are already underway. In fact, he said the studio has taken serious steps to bring back Star-Lord.

Pratt said he has a good relationship with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and one of the studio's top brass, Lou D'Esposito. "I have a great relationship with Kevin Feige and Lou D'Esposito.

We've had ongoing conversations about how we're going to fulfill that promise and the serious steps we're taking to ensure that it happens," Pratt said. While he hasn't revealed the film or project Star-Lord will return to, Pratt is confident the character still has a future in the MCU.

"So, yes, you'll see Star-Lord again, which is exciting. But I can't say when that will happen. However, he's not going anywhere," he said. Pratt's desire to reprise his role as Star-Lord is nothing new.

Several months earlier, he admitted to having pitched Marvel an idea for a sequel to the character's story. Pratt has stated that he's willing to go along with the studio's plans. However, he also has his own views on the direction he wants Star-Lord's story to take.

"I'm happy to do whatever they want, and I'll do it. Also, I personally have a strong vision of what I want him to do. And I think that's really cool," Pratt said. Star-Lord is one of the characters that Pratt has played for quite a long time in the MCU.

So far, he has played the character in six Marvel films: Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

While Pratt has confirmed Star-Lord's return, Marvel has yet to announce a schedule or title for the project featuring the character.
