The complainant is said to be a man in his 30s who claims he was assaulted while having dinner with Seungri at a restaurant in Gangnam. Police have reportedly not yet questioned the complainant and will continue their investigation.
Seungri's name has long been in the news regarding legal issues. He debuted with BIGBANG in 2006 and left the group in March 2019 after various allegations related to Burning Sun surfaced.

After a trial and an appeal, the South Korean Supreme Court found him guilty on all nine charges in May 2022 and upheld his one-year-and-six-month prison sentence. Seungri was subsequently released from Yeoju Prison in February 2023.
