A South Korean manufacturer Samsung has announced that it is about to launch a Samsung Pay debit card this summer.

Sang Ahn, vice president and general manager of Samsung Pay in North America announced today in a blog post (via Android Central).



The company will launch the card, which will be backed by a cash management account, in partnership with SoFi a personal finance company.

Five years after launching its own mobile payment service. The physical Samsung Pay debit card is expected during the summer.

Google is also reportedly working on its own branded payment card after developing Google Pay. Though Google’s will apparently be a debit card.
