MONSTA X’s Shownu has announced that he will be enlisting in the military to complete his mandatory service later this month. The K-pop group’s leader shared the news with fans in their official fan cafe earlier today (July 10).
MONSTA X’s agency, Starship Entertainment, released a statement announcing that Shownu would enter the military training center on July 22 and undergo basic training for three weeks before fulfilling the rest of his mandatory military service.
After that period, he will serve as a public service worker due to his medical background, which includes surgery for retinal detachment in his left eye and a dislocated shoulder.
The MONSTA X leader recently set out the group’s promotions for their latest album ‘One Of A Kind’. According to their agency, the idol had felt “discomfort” in his left eye, which was operated on in July 2020, and would be taking time off “to avoid a relapse and further deterioration”.
