iQOO unveiled the iQOO U5 on December 21, 2021, in China. As scheduled, the smartphone went on pre-orders on December 24 and today, it has officially gone on sale in the country. The handset comes with a 6.58-inch LCD display, a dual-camera setup, Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The iQOO U5 is a budget smartphone comes with a 6.58-inch LCD display offering Full-HD+ resolution. It is a water-drop notch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports HDR10 and has 401 PPI pixel density. As for security, The smartphone has a side-facing fingerprint scanner. As for OS software, the device boots on Android 11 out of the box and has iQOO UI.
Under the hood, the iQOO U5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The handset sports an 8MP selfie camera and has a dual-camera setup at the rear. It has a 50MP primary lens and a 2MP macro sensor.
For connectivity, The iQOO U5 comes with Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi dual-band, and GPS support. The smartphone has 5G connectivity and supports dual-SIM. The smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The handset comes in three color variants – Magic Blue, Dark Black, and Silver White.
As for the pricing and availability, the iQOO U5 comes at starting price of CNY 1,299(~$204) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, CNY 1,399(~220$) for the 6GB + 128GB variant, and CNY 1,499(~$236) for the maxed out 8GB + 128GB variant. The smartphone can be purchased from JD mall and other authorized stores in the country.
