The OPPO A53s 5G has been launched in India as the most affordable 5G smartphone in the country. The handset is placed below the OPPO A74 5G in the brand’s lineup of smartphones for the Indian market. The new smartphone from OPPO competes directly with the Realme 8 5G, which is now the second most affordable 5G phone in India.

The OPPO A53s 5G comes with a 6.52-inch screen. The display has HD+ resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a V-shaped notch at the top that houses the front-facing camera. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G (7 nm). This chipset is made on a 7nm fabrication process. It has 4x Cortex-A76 CPU cores, 3x Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the OPPO A53s 5G has three rear cameras, a 13MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging.

On the software side of things, the OPPO A53s 5G comes loaded with the Android 11 OS and ColorOS 11.1. The smartphone features Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks) with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

As for the official pricing and availability, the OPPO A53s 5G is available in two configurations. The first model has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage; it costs Rs 14,990. The second model has 8GB RAM and 128 storage; it will set you back by Rs 16,990. The smartphone has gone on sale in India exclusively from e-commerce platform website Flipkart.
