Oppo has released its new smartphone in the Chinese market, called Oppo A55 5G. As its name suggests, it comes with 5G technology and interesting thing is that the company listed the smartphone at an affordable price. Oppo has provided a 6.5-inch LCD display, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, triple camera setup, and a massive 5000mAh battery.
The Oppo A55 5G features a 6.5-inch LCD display with a waterdrop notch. It has 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The smartphone comes with a glossy gradient back with a rectangular shape camera module that will look very premium in the palm. In terms of dimensions, the handset measures 163.9 x 75.7 x 8.4mm and weighs is mere 186 grams. There is also a fingerprint sensor that is embedded into the lock button.
There are three camera sensors at the backside – a 13MP primary camera sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP secondary macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP portrait camera with an f/2.4 aperture. For the front, it features an 8MP selfie camera with an f.2.0 aperture. The dual-SIM supporting smartphone runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11 on the top. the device is powered by a 5000mAh battery and USB Type-C port to connect the charger.
Under the hood, The Oppo A55 5G is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC with an octa-core CPU and Mali G57 GPU. As for the RAM and storage, it has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that is further expandable via a microSD card up to 1TB. Connectivity features on the smartphone include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS. Thankfully, users get a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the pricing and availability, the Oppo A55 5G carries a price tag of CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 18,000) in China for the lone 6GB RAM with 128 internal storage variant. The smartphone is available in two color options, i.e. Brisk Blue and Rhythm Black. The device is already up for sale in China several online retailers and Oppo’s own channels.
