Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi presented today gaming smartphone called the Black Shark 2 Pro, which will compete with the recently announced Asus ROG Phone 2 . The handset is built on the basis of the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, the amount of RAM LPDDR4X is 12 GB, the capacity of flash memory is 128 or 256 GB and offers UFS 3.0 storage. Depending on these options or choice, price is set at 435 and 508 dollars,
The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro comes with an upgrade in design, as the back panel is touted to offer an improved grip and there are two more RGB LED lights on either side of the Black Shark logo. The handset has received an updated liquid cooling system that allows the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset to operate at maximum frequency for a long period of time. The manufacturer claims that the smartphone scored more than 500,000 points in AnTuTu.
The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 features a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with a response time of 34.7 ms. The device has received support for DC Dimming 2.0 technology, which eliminates screen flickering, as well as Magic Press 2.0 technology, which allows the screen to responds differently to touch strengths or touch sensitivity.
In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 has a dual main camera and is equipped with a 48-megapixel image sensor from Sony IMX586 with an f/1.75 lens and an additional sensor with a resolution of 13 megapixels with an f/2.2 lens. . Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light, and a gyroscope. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor, measures 163.61×75.01×8.77mm, and weighs 250 grams. Buyers will be offered several color options, among which will be not only black and silver, but also purple and orange.
For pricing and availability, Black Shark 2 Pro has been launched in China in two variants. The 12GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced in China at CNY 2,999 (roughly $435) and the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option is priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly $508). It has been made available in Electric Black and Ice Ash colour options. The phone is up for reservation, and will go on sale on August 2.
