Realme has started releasing a new Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 update for the GT Neo2 device in India. According to the changelog, the firmware brings a new design with a better user interface and responsiveness, revamped page layout, redesigned icons, background stream mode, Quick Launch, and optimized FlexDrop feature. Functions such as Passwords, Privacy protection, and Emergency are now stacked under Phone Manager.

The Realme GT Neo2 smartphone was launched in India last year 2021 with Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0. Now, it has started receiving the latest Realme UI 3.0 update based on Android 12. Initially, the update is for a limited set of users who are getting it on a random basis. However, the company says that there will be a broader release very soon.

The Realme GT Neo2 bears a 6.62-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and 1300-nits of peak brightness. The handset comes with a punch-hole selfie camera at the top-left corner, slim bezels, and an under-display fingerprint reader. On the rear, it has a triple camera setup, paired with a dual-LED flash.

In terms of optics, the Realme GT Neo2 houses a 64MP (f/1.8) primary camera, an 8MP (f/2.3) 119-degree ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) macro snapper. On the front, it offers a 16MP (f/2.5) wide shooter for selfies and video calls. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support. 

The Android 12 update for the Realme GT Neo2 in India carries version number RMX3370_11.C.04 and weighs 1.21GB in size. The Realme UI 3.0 is being released in stages via the OTA method to reduce the impact of critical bugs. To manually check for the firmware, you need to head over to Settings > Software updates.

Under the hood, the Realme GT Neo2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset. The device comes in 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB configurations. At the hear, it currently boots Android 11 OS with Realme UI 2.0 baked on top. For connectivity options, the smartphone offers support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a Type-C port.

For pricing and availability, the Realme GT Neo2 commands a price of Rs. 31,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. Further, the top-tier model of the smartphone with a 12GB/256GB configuration costs Rs. 35,999. It is available in three different color options, including Neo Black, Neo Blue, and Neo Green. The device can be purchased from Flipkart and Realme's official website.
