South Korean tech giant, Samsung is gearing up to launch its budget-friendly laptop, called the Galaxy Book Go, in India. In the latest development, the new device has appeared on Flipkart, indicating an imminent launch. The listing on the e-commerce site has also revealed that it will be up for pre-booking from March 18. The laptop was first introduced in the US in June 2021.
Samsung is getting ready for a double bonanza in India, with the premium Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 on one hand and the affordable Galaxy Book Go on the other. Interestingly, they will be sold via Amazon and Flipkart, respectively. The Galaxy Book Go is expected to be a favorite among students who typically look for a cost-effective yet feature-packed laptop.
The Samsung Galaxy Book Go features a 14-inch Full-HD+ (1980x1080 pixels) TFT display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It bears a compact and slim design, a conventional rectangular screen with thick top and bottom bezels, a silver finish, a 180-degree hinge, and a touchpad. In terms of dimensions, it measures 14.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.38kg. It is certified with US military standard MIL-STD-810G.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Book Go is powered by a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and Adreno 618 GPU. At the heart, it runs on Windows 10 Home Edition out of the box and packs a 42.3Wh battery with 25W fast-charging support.
The I/O ports on the Samsung Galaxy Book Go include two Type-C ports, a USB 2.0 port, a microSD card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. The laptop offers dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, Galaxy Book Smart Switch, and a 720p HD web camera for video calls. For wireless connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi.
The official pricing and availability details of the Samsung Galaxy Book Go in India will be announced by the Korean tech company at the time of its launch. For reference, in the US, it starts at $349 (roughly Rs. 26,600). The laptop should be available in a single silver color option.
