The Korean drama "Four Hands, Two Sonatas" will conclude its run on Sunday (October 4, 2026) night. Episode 11, which aired Saturday (October 3, 2026) night, was one of the highest-rated episodes of the season.
Typically, Korean drama ratings on cable channels like tvN are lower on Saturday nights than on Sunday nights. Last week, Four Hands, Two Sonatas broke its record for highest Saturday ratings at 7.2%.
Then, as the show neared its conclusion, according to Nielsen Korea, the local South Korean viewership rating for "Four Hands, Two Sonatas" rose to 8.7%. Tonight's final episode is predicted to see a surge, possibly even reaching double digits.
For the past two weeks, Four Hands, Two Sonatas has had no major competition on other channels. So, viewers can focus on the journey of Kang Pio (Song Kang) and Choi Jeongyeo (Lee Jun Young).
Unfortunately, Four Hands, Two Sonatas' global popularity is less strong than other non-English-language series on Netflix. This week, according to TUDUM data, the drama dropped out of Netflix's top 10 global best-selling shows.
Four Hands, Two Sonatas held the top spot for three weeks, from September 14-20, 2026. Then, from September 21-27, 2026, it dropped out of the top 10, leaving The Scandal as the only global best-selling drama during that period.
In Indonesia, Four Hands, Two Sonatas only managed to hold on to the #6 spot as the most-watched series until Sunday afternoon. Variety shows and stand-up comedies, Indonesian horror series, and Korean dramas eclipsed its popularity.
Four Hands, Two Sonatas tells the story of friendship, love, rivalry, and the growth of teenagers who meet at Korea Arts High School, a school filled with musically gifted students, including the main characters.
The first student is Kang Pio (Song Kang), an exceptionally talented pianist and perfectionist. He consistently ranks first in his academics. He also possesses natural talent and a strong inner drive to pursue a career as a pianist.
Initially, Kang Pio had no competition at all. Therefore, all the students were confident that he would sweep the world's best piano competition. That was until another student named Choi Jeongyo (Lee Jun Young) appeared.
Like Kang Pio, Choi Jeongyo is also a genius pianist who, due to poverty, chooses to neglect her talent. She has long admired Kang Pio. Their meeting creates unexpected friction and conflict that will be the main focus of this drama.
