Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone, called the Y33s 5G, in China. It starts at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 15,600) for the 4GB/128GB model. The Chinese tech company is yet to announce the availability of the handset in other markets. As for the highlights, it features a 13MP main camera, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, an LCD display, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The Y33s 5G is the latest addition to Vivo's portfolio of affordable devices in China. With a powerful Dimensity 700 chip and Android 12 support, it is expected to stand out in the overcrowded budget segment. The 4G edition of the handset had debuted in India last August 2021. We expect the 5G version to soon make its entry into India.
The Vivo Y33s 5G features a 6.58-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) IPS LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 269ppi pixel density. The smartphone bears a waterdrop notch design with a noticeable bottom bezel and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it has a rectangular camera unit.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Vivo Y33s 5G is equipped with a dual rear camera arrangement, including a 13MP main shooter and a 2MP macro lens. Up front, it sports an 8MP snapper for selfies and video calls. On the front software, it runs on Android 12-based Origin OceanOS skin out of the box.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y33s 5G is fueled by a MediaTek Dimesnity 700 chip, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It houses a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. For connectivity options, the smartphone offers support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, 5G, and a Type-C port.
For official pricing and availability, the Vivo Y33s 5G starts at CNY 1,299 (around Rs. 15,600) for the 4GB/128GB model and goes up to CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 19,200) for the 8GB/128GB variant. The smartphone is offered in Snow Dawn, Nebula Blue, and Fluorite Black color options. It is only available in China as of now.
