The frequently rumored Motorola Edge 30 has finally gone official. It is an affordable variant of the Edge 30 Pro and will arrive in different markets of the world excluding the United States. The company is touting it as the slimmest 5G smartphone in the world, measuring just 6.79 mm in thickness and weighing only 155 grams.
The Motorola Edge 30 comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports 10-bit color output and HDR10+ content. Under the hood, the handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor that brings 5G connectivity. The handset is available in a single 8GB RAM but 128GB and 256GB storage options.
In terms of camera department, there is a triple camera setup on the back where each sensor is aligned vertically. It features a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera on the smartphone is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calls.
On the front software, the Motorola Edge 30 will ship with Android 12 and receive at least two major OS upgrades. It should be a close-to-stock Android experience. The whole package is powered by a 4,020mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Other features on the smartphone include NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6E, and USB Type-C port.
For pricing and availability, Motorola has priced the Edge 30 at EUR 449.99 for the base model in the United Kingdom. It will also be launched in select markets in Asia including India, Latin America, the Middle East, and Australia. The color options on the smartphone will include Supermoon Silver, Aurora Green, and Meteor Grey.
