For this week, BLACKPINK's new pre-release single “Pink Venom” has successfully penetrated the ARIA Singles Chart, ranking No. 1.
With this, BLACKPINK has automatically broken the record as the first K-Pop group in history to successfully dominate the top of the ARIA Singles Chart. Overall BLACKPINK is also the second K-Pop artist to ever reach No.1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The only other K-Pop artist to top the chart to date is PSY, with his hit song "Gangnam Style" in 2012.
"Pink Venom" was released on August 19, 2022 and immediately debuted atop Spotify's daily global top charts with 7.9 million filtered streams, and 10.7 million unfiltered streams. "Pink Venom" is a K-Pop girl group 's highest debut of 2022 so far. Amazingly, "Pink Venom" continues to peak at number one on Spotify's daily global top chart, making BLACKPINK the first K-Pop artist to top the chart for several days.
In South Korea, "Pink Venom" quickly topped major real-time major charts like MelOn and Genie on its first day of release. "Pink Venom" debuts at No. 2 on the MelOn Daily Chart, becoming the highest debut by a female artist in 2022. Apart from that, the song also debuted at No. 22 on the Circle Digital Chart on August 20, 2022.
"Pink Venom" was also a commercial success in China, sweeping several top charts on QQ Music, the country's largest music site. As additional information, "Pink Venom" was released by YG Entertainment and Interscope Records as a pre-release single from BLACKPINK's latest album "BORN PINK."
