BTS is again nominated for an international music award. This time, they were again nominated in a number of different categories at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). On July 26, 2022 local time, MTV officially released the full list of musicians nominated for this year's awards. 

A number of names of K-Pop musicians were successfully nominated in a number of categories. BTS is still the most superior by being nominated in 4 different categories. This makes RM Cs the group with the most nominations this year. BTS was again nominated in the Best K-Pop category. Previously, they managed to bring the trophy for this category for three consecutive years.

In addition, BTS was also nominated in the Best Choreography category for the song Permission to Dance. They were nominated alongside Doja Cat (Woman), FKA twigs ft. The Weeknd (Tears in the Club), Harry Styles (As It Was), Lil Nas X-Jack Harlow (Industry Baby), and Normani ft Cardi B (Wild Side).

BTS was also nominated in the Best Metaverse Performance category for their performance in Minecraft, along with BLACKPINK for their partnership with PUBG, Charli XCX with Roblox, Justin Bieber, Rift Tour ft Ariana Grande in Fortnite, and Twenty One Pilots Concert Experience on Roblox. Lastly, BTS was nominated in the Best Visual Effects category for their collaboration with Coldplay on My Universe. 

They will compete with Billie Eilish (Happier Than Ever), Kendrick Lamar (The Heart Part 5), Lil Nas X - Jack Harlow (Industry Baby), Megan Thee Stallion & Dua Lipa (Sweetest Pie), and The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber. (Stay). Besides BTS, SEVENTEEN was nominated in 3 categories at the 2022 MTV VMA. 

They were nominated in the categories of Best New Artist, Push Performance of the Year (Rock With You), and Best K-Pop (HOT). BLACKPINK's Lisa was nominated for Best K-Pop for the song LALISA, along with BTS for Yet to Come, ITZY for LOCO, SEVENTEEN's HOT, Stray Kids' MANIAC, and TWICE's The Feels. The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28, 2022.
