The boy band from South Korea, CIX, stumbled upon a plagiarism case. The concept carried by the group consisting of BX, Seunghun, Yonghee, Jinyoung and Hyunsuk for the latest merchandise is accused of being similar to the anime The Prince of Tennis - a sports-driven anime that debuted back in 2001

In response to that, C9 Entertainment as the agency opened its voice. "To commemorate CIX's second debut anniversary, we took and released several photos with the concept of tennis club players," said C9 Entertainment as reported by Soompi on Tuesday July 27, 2021. "We plan to make and sell anniversary items using parts of the photo.

" But since the photos were released, it immediately caused chaos. C9 Entertainment is aware that there are similarities between CIX's photo and the anime.  "In this process, we have identified that the clothing designs of certain characters from certain animations are very similar to the clothing designs that the members wear in concept photos," he explained.

"And apart from the legal issues, we fully agree that selling merchandise in this situation would be ethically problematic." Therefore, C9 Entertainment chose to cancel the sale of CIX's 2nd anniversary edition merchandise. "Therefore, we want to cancel all sales of these items.

No products have been sold and shipped so far, and we will immediately refund all the money already paid," he said. In closing, the agency promised to be more careful in making concepts so as not to stumble upon the issue of plagiarism again.
