After premiering at Cannes this year, Park Chan Wook 's film Decision To Leave was chosen to represent South Korea at the 2023 Oscars. This film will compete in the Best International Feature category. Decision To Leave is played by Park Hae Il as a police detective named Hae Joon. 

One day he is faced with a case of the mysterious death of a man who fell from the top of a mountain. While conducting the investigation, a feeling of affection arises between him and the widow of the dead man. The woman's name is Seo Rae, played by Tang Wei. He is a suspect in this case. Decision To Leave was shown on the CGV cinema network last July. 

This film stole the attention of many Indonesian film lovers because the works of Park Chan Wook, previously known through Old Boy (2003) and The Handmaiden (2016), no longer need to doubt the quality of the story and cinematography. This 138-minute film premiered in Cannes on May 23, followed by screenings in all Korean theaters on June 29, 2022. 

In the near future, the film Decision To Leave will also be released in US theaters. Decision To Leave started production in October 2020 and went through post-production in late 2021 to early 2022.  From the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, the film was awarded the Best Director trophy for Park Chan Wook. 

Decision To Leave was also nominated for the Palme d'Or trophy but did not emerge victorious. In September, Decision To Leave will also premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Then in the same month the premiere in the United States will be held at the Fantastic Fest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. There are many familiar faces in Decision To Leave who make cameos. 

In the midst of the mystery and drama that is presented, this film also inserts a lot of comedy. Most of them are raised by actor Go Kyung Pyo who plays an assistant detective named Soo Wan. Several cameos that appear in this film include Kim Shin Young, Go Min Si, Park Jeong Min, Lee Hak Joo, to Joo In Young.
