Hwang Minhyun expanded his career after his journey with NU’EST came to an end. After nearly 10 years, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed the disbandment of NU’EST, with only Baekho and Minhyun as the members who chose to stay with the agency. The breakup came before their contracts expired on March 14.
Although they lost their lives as an idol group member, Hwang Minhyun took it as a chance to expand his career. On July 11, Hwang Minhyun officially launched his YouTube channel, Moment H, through his first video. The first clip shows behind the scenes of his poster shoot for the now-hit Netflix series where he plays the role of Seo Yul.
The character is a genius scion of the Seo family who is a hopeless romantic despite looking romantic on the outside. The series explores the lives of young mages in the fictional country of Daeho. They overcome their twisted fates through forbidden sorcery called the alchemy of souls. That way, they can switch bodies.
Hwang Minhyun’s first YouTube video also recorded him as he posed for his drama posters. Amid his busy schedule, Hwang Minhyun still connects with the former NU’EST members. Earlier this month, the idol-turned-actor went to the first solo fan meeting of Kim Jong Hyun (JR) with Ren and Aron.
The four members posed for a photo — which Kim Jong Hyun shared on his Instagram Story — while putting their arms around each other to show their closeness even after the disbandment. The event served as Kim Jong Hyun’s first fan meeting since signing an exclusive contract with EVERMORE Entertainment in May.
“We’re happy to be able to work with Kim Jong Hyun. We will fully support him so he can showcase his abilities in a wide variety of fields in his promotions as a solo musician and as an actor. Please watch over Kim Jong Hyun with an affectionate gaze as he prepares for a new step,” the agency went on.
