Soompi launched on Friday August 12, 2022, Kakao TV shared a number of photos of a number of artists playing the Korean drama Accidental Country Diary, including Joy Red Velvet , Choo Young Woo, Baek Sung Chul and many more.

This romantic comedy genre drama is based on the web novel of the same name and is about a man from Seoul who meets a policewoman while living in the countryside. Along with the love story of two characters with a fresh natural setting, this drama will depict the ups and downs of the pure and humane people of Heedong Village.

Director Kwon Seok Jang and writer Baek Eun Kyung joined the main cast of Red Velvet's Joy, Choo Young Woo, Baek Sung Chul, Jung Seok Yong, Baek Ji Won, Park Ji Ah, and Yoo Yeon for their first script reading. The smart and beautiful policewoman Ahn Ja Young is played by Red Velvet's Joy. Ahn Ja Young is a native of Heedong Village and one who gets along with everyone in town.

If something happened in Heedong Village, Ahn Ja Young would always show up and help solve the problem. In this role, Joy was able to realistically portray Ahn Ja Young's serenity with her bright words and personality, adding a unique touch of her own happy energy. Choo Young Woo plays Han Ji Yool, a veterinarian from Seoul who wants to get out of Heedong Village as soon as possible.

After working in the city, Han Ji Yool finds himself in charge of an animal hospital in the countryside and begins to have to take care of large animals like cows and goats. Choo Young Woo perfectly revealed Han Ji Yool's gentle tone hidden behind her cold demeanor, as well as her complex emotions and frustration at finding herself in an unfamiliar environment overnight.

Baek Sung Chul plays the young and handsome farm successor, Lee Sang Hyun, who represents all the youths of Heedong Village. Lee Sang Hyun is friendly with everyone but often fights with Ahn Ja Young, his best friend since birth. Ahn Ja Young's boss and police chief, Hwang Man Sung, played by Jung Seok Yong who shows great synergy with Joy.

An important part of Heedong Village is the women's association run by president Jang Se Ryun (Baek Ji Won), secretary Cha Yeon Hong (Park Ji Ah), and youngest member Kyung Ok (Yoo Yeon). After the script reading, the main cast commented, “We thought the rustic scent and affection would be very touching.

It would be better if you watch while laughing a lot, thinking you are running away from everyday life and healing. We will look for you after diligently filming. Please look forward to it lots and lots. " The production team also shared, “The atmosphere on set was like a country party where your eyes, ears, and hearts were all happy.

Now that Park Soo Young (Joy), Choo Young Woo, and Baek Sung Chul have come together, showed Heedong Village, and exceeded expectations with their chemistry, we have revealed a romance that is fresher than any other.” They continued, “The proud smiles didn't leave the staff's faces on set.

We believe 'Unexpected Country Diary' will be a drama that feels like a break in the midst of a tiring daily life.  "We hope to write a state diary together with viewers in the lush green Heedong Village this September. Please give us a lot of attention and anticipation for the first episode," he continued. 'Unexpected Country Diary' will premiere on September 5, 2022.
