Label SJ announced that one of the Super Junior members had tested positive for COVID-19. Kyuhyun tested positive after feeling unwell. The news was revealed through a statement officially released by Label SJ. They also revealed that Kyuhyun had undergone three vaccinations so he only felt mild symptoms.
"Super Junior member Kyuhyun, who underwent a PCR test on February 17, 2022, has learned the results. He tested positive for COVID-19 on February 18," said Label SJ. "Kyuhyun has completed the third dose of vaccination. So, he only experienced mild symptoms. Kyuhyun decided to postpone all activities and undergo self-quarantine at home," he continued.
Label SJ also mentioned that all Super Junior members who were in close contact with Kyuhyun had undergone a COVID-19 test. So far, they have tested negative. "All Super Junior members who have close contact with Kyuhyun , as well as the staff, have been tested and so far have been tested negative.
However, we will undergo tests periodically to avoid unwanted situations," explained Label SJ. "We promise to provide support to Kyuhyun so he can recover soon," he concluded. Previously, Label SJ had revealed the condition of Kyuhyun who was suspected of being positive through an antigen test taken on February 17, 2022.
The test was taken for the benefit of the musical Frankenstein starring him. After that, Kyuhyun also decided to cancel his appearance in the musical Frankenstein which was supposed to be held on February 17, 2022 at 19.30 local time.
He immediately went to the hospital and underwent a PCR test. Before Kyuhyun , a number of K-Pop artists first tested positive for COVID-19. Lia and Chaeryoung ITZY tested positive for COVID-19 in the same week, before being followed by V BTS and Yeonjun TXT.
