On August 22, WINNER appeared on Dingo Music's YouTube show 'Tipsy Live 2'. In the video which is about 7 minutes long, the four WINNER members chat with each other while drinking soju. Although fans liked the broadcast, some netizens regretted the attitude of the members who were considered careless in commenting on the dance challenge , in particular, Seung Hoon.
On an occasion in the midst of their conversation, Seung Yoon expressed his thoughts about the current music show which he thinks is being dominated by dance challenges, "Music performances have become a slave to challenges. All music shows that we promote are like that",
In response, Seung Hoon said, "I think doing the challenge is just an excuse, but behind the challenge we can feel the feelings that arise between each other." Hearing this, Seung Yoon agreed, "That's right. There are things like that." Seung Hoon continued, "I feel that way sometimes", adding, "When we make eye contact, I think I feel flowery."
Mino also asked with whom Seung Hoon felt the seeds of these feelings. He replied, "I don't know if I'm the only one who feels that way. I think I feel that way with some people." In a joking tone, Jin Woo then asked, "Is it with a man?" the question immediately invites laughter from the other members.
After watching the video, netizens criticized Seunghoon and WINNER for making a bad impression about the dance challenge. "They are very reckless." "Some singers do it (dance challenges) with good intentions. Did they do something wrong?" "Now he (Seung Hoon) left a bad impression on me." "Now all girl groups who do challenges with WINNER will be suspected,"
"All girl groups should stay away from WINNER now." The dance challenge in the K-Pop industry itself is a kind of promotional content where idols dance to the choreography of their latest songs with other singers. Most idol singers do this and the videos they take are created and uploaded to Instagram Reels or Tiktok in the form of short videos.
On July 5, WINNER itself just made a comeback by releasing their new album titled 'HOLIDAY' with the main song entitled 'I LOVE U'. During their promotions for the album, the WINNER members also did dance challenges with many idols, most of whom were female idols such as STAYC, Ning Ning aespa, Miyeon (G)I-DLE, Sunmi, and 'Street Woman Fighter' dropout dancer Aiki.
