In every comeback, South Korean boy band, BTS always brings a story to tell the fans. Their album concepts always have a philosophy that strengthens the bond between the seven members and ARMY. One of BTS' albums is now included in Rolling Stone's list of the 50 Best Album Concepts of All Time.

The list consists of a number of albums with various genres, such as classic rock, R&B, to punk. Rolling Stone defines selected concept albums as thematic albums, tied together by specific moods or related songs. So, these albums must be listened to without interruption from the first song to the last.

"To make the album top the list, an album must have a strong concept and great music," Rolling Stone wrote. According to Rolling Stone, Map of the Soul: 7 is an album with a mature concept, using terms from Jungian philosophy, in line with the title Map of the Soul.

This album is considered successful in painting a complete and honest self-portrait on the members. "Before BTS, a number of pop idols had attempted to address the anxiety that comes with having to maintain their celebrity status which is usually very different from who they really are," wrote Rolling Stone.

"But with songs on Map of the Soul: 7 that are heart-wrenching like Black Swan, BTS opens up, showing their fears fueled by fame with an attempt to introspect themselves," he concluded. Map of the Soul: 7 is a BTS album released on February 21, 2020. It contains 19 songs that show the identity of each member and songs of encouragement for ARMY.
