Kim Taehyung, also known as BTS's V, recently became the first person to get six covers for ' Vogue Korea.' Naver launched, Kim Taehyung achieved this record for the first time when he appeared individually as a cover model for a magazine 'Vogue Korea'. The recent crackdown on K-Pop by the Chinese government didn't stop Taehyung's fans there, from giving full support to his idol's solo magazine cover shoot.
According to the latest sales posted on October 2nd, Chinese fans have purchased a total of 72,852 copies of V's 'Vogue Korea' magazine through various platforms. A total of 50,225 sales came through group orders organized by Taehyung's fan club called 'Baidu Vbar,' while the rest were ordered by individual Chinese fans via other e-commerce sites.
The previous record was held by another K-pop group member, with group order sales of 49,000 copies, making Taehyung now #1 in sales rankings among K-pop artists. Taehyung's high sales in China may not come as a surprise to most as he has been the most popular BTS member since the group's debut years.
Based on data for September, Taehyung has maintained his position as the most searched BTS member on Baidu, China's largest search engine, and has the highest index on WeChat, China's largest instant messaging app. In addition to ordering magazines, 'China Vbar' also gave a birthday project to Kim Taehyung in a big way.
Even though Kim Taehyung's birthday is still 3 months away which is December 30th, 'China Vbar' has started the first anniversary project out of many birthday projects for their beloved idol Kim Taehyung. One of their projects this year is to advertise the sixth version of Taehyung's 'Vogue Korea' magazine.
Apart from overwhelming sales in China, the cover of Taehyung's 'Vogue Korea' has also become the #1 bestselling magazine on Ktown4u, the most popular online store for international K-pop fans. He proved his incredible selling power by surpassing 50,000 sales in less than 2 weeks. Congratulations to Kim Taehyung or BTS's V!
