Recently, Julien's Auction held the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction in Beverly Hills and online. In the auction , one of the items being auctioned was the costume worn by J-Hope BTS in the music video for " MORE " and the cover photo shoot for his solo debut album, " Jack in The Box ."
According to Koreaboo, the pre-auction price for the costume, which includes a beanie, jumpsuit and t-shirt, was initially suggested to be between $4,000 USD (Rp. 60.5 million) and $6,000 USD (Rp. 90.8 million), but by the end of January the highest bid price was already in place. at $12,500 USD (Rp. 189.3 million).
On February 6, 2023, the auction finally concluded and MusiCares stated that J-Hope's costume sold for about five times the price it was originally offered for. The last bidder was able to buy the dress for $21.875 USD or around Rp.331.3 million. Previously, J-Hope was known to have donated other items to MusiCares.
In 2022, he donated three Louis Vuitton rings that he wore on stage at the 63rd Grammy Awards and the rings sold for $24,320 or around Rp.368.3 million. Annually, MusiCares holds a charity auction with items donated by pop stars offering many unique memorabilia items, including autographed instruments, handwritten lyrics, recordings, and more. Apart from J-Hope, several stars participating in the MusiCares auction event this year include Taylor Swift, Eminem, and Harry Styles.
According to a Billboard report, Taylor Swift donated an Epiphone acoustic guitar decorated with artwork from her album "Evermore." Eminem donated a pair of Nike Air Max shoes with the words "Shady," while Harry Styles donated a Fender Player series Stratocaster electric guitar with the words "Always love" signed by the former One Direction member.
