Here's Bighit Music's Response and BTS' RM After Their Personal Data Was Leaked

Shocking news came from the leader of BTS, RM, whose personal data was illegally accessed by employees of the Korean Railways Company. Bighit Music and RM also gave their responses regarding the case. In addition, seeing the evil actions of these employees, ARMY (BTS fans) posted 'HYBE PROTECT RM' on Twitter.

On Wednesday March 1, 2023, South Korean media SBS 8 News informed that RM BTS's personal data was leaked , accessed illegally and disseminated. Korail (Korea Railroad Corporation) employee 'A' is known to have illegally accessed RM's personal travel data since 2019. Internal audit revealed that employee 'A' had accessed the train ticket issuance history 18 times.

Employee 'A' is an IT developer at Korail who can access consumer travel history data. Employee 'A' is known to have checked RM's reservation details and even booked a seat for his friend near RM, quoted from Asia Gyeongje. Bighit Music as RM's agency responded to this case, " After confirming the details, we will take the necessary measures to protect the artist, " JTBC was quoted as confirming to Bighit Music via a phone call.

The owner of the name Kim Namjoon also gave a response. RM re-uploaded the news on his Instagram Story with the caption “^^;;”. Even though he didn't give any further response, RM showed his discomfort. Angry fans also raised the keyword 'HYBE PROTECT RM' on Twitter so that HYBE as the agency that oversees RM cares more about the artist. These keywords have been posted by ARMY since the news was revealed. 

As of Thursday afternoon March 2, 2023, the keyword 'HYBE PROTECT RM' was successfully trending in the Twitter Trending column and voiced more than 101 thousand times. The related words 'BIGHIT PROTECT RM', 'BIGHIT PROTECT NAMJOON', 'HYBE PROTECT NAMJOON', 'HYBE PROTECT BTS' were also posted together with the previous keywords. As a form of ARMY's support for their idol, they sent an email to HYBE LABELS. 

ARMY often does this when they have complaints about HYBE LABELS or Bighit Music when it comes to BTS members. Many fans are furious about the case of spreading idol personal data this time. The problem is cases like this do not only come once or twice. Korail itself has given sanctions in the form of suspension for employee 'A'. In addition, the position of employee 'A' as IT development has been removed.
